 Easy Ways to Get Fit.



If you are anything like me, you barely have time to breathe, much less work up a sweat to meet the new federal exercise guidelines for health. The following are tips on squeezing an extra 30 minutes of exercise into your day.

_ Flex your abdominal muscles while waiting in lines.

_ You might as well Kegel to strengthen your pelvic floor muscles while you are at it.

_ Always take stairs instead of the elevator or escalator.

_ Stretch while taking a shower.

_ Walk around your office or outside during lunch.

_ Secretly strengthening your body while sitting anywhere. Push your arms down hard on your chair for a count of 10, then release. Tightening your buttocks and abdominal muscles. Press your feet into the floor while tightening your leg muscles.

_ Get in the habit of parking a few blocks away from work, the theater, or shopping center.

_ Take a quick 5-10 minute mini-walk around the block before you start the day.

_ Stretch, do warm-ups, or ride your exercise bike while watching television.
