Combating Menopause Weight Gain Naturally.

Weight gain is one of the most common complaints of women in menopause and women who have had a hysterectomy. Menopause women can eat less, exercise more and still gain weight. It is incredibly frustrating.

Women in menopause have two strikes against them when trying to battle the bulge. Menopause, and hysterectomy produce hormone imbalance, a common cause of weight gain. Age invariably takes its toll on the metabolism, another common cause of weight gain

To successfully tackle the middle age spread, women need to bring their bodies back into hormone balance while reviving a sluggish metabolism. To accomplish this, we have two solid yet easy suggestions; natural progesterone cream for hormone balance and natural sea kelp to improve metabolic function.

Sea kelp is a century-old homeopathic remedy for weight loss. Sea kelp effectively stimulates the metabolism and helps break down fatty tissue for safe and fast weight loss. The combination of natural minerals and marine algae in sea kelp also helps controls appetite, eliminates toxins, helps fight water retention, increases overall energy and also controls balance in producing hormones.

Natural progesterone brings hormonal balance back into your body and improves the body’s ability to burn fat. Natural progesterone restores sex drive, helps sleep disorders, increases energy and reduces the risk of breast and uterine cancer. Natural progesterone rebuilds lost bone mass, improves new bone formation, is a natural anti-depressant, a natural diuretic AND controls hot flashes!

After a hysterectomy and during menopause the levels of estrogen and progesterone produced by the ovaries drop dramatically. Accordingly, many women experience significant weight gain.

Although some studies indicate that estrogen HRT hormone medication can keep the menopause weight gain at bay, many women in menopause taking hormone replacement medication will strongly argue to the otherwise. Some women using estrogen HRT hormone medication gain significant amounts of weight.

Besides, most women now are unwilling to use HRT hormone medication because of the serious health risks associated with synthetic estrogen in HRT hormone medication.

Supplementing with natural progesterone helps bring the body back into hormone balance by redirecting estrogen activity and increasing the sensitivity of estrogen receptors. Natural progesterone also has a normalizing effect on a sluggish thyroid.

Dr. Lee, MD, the leading expert in the use of natural progesterone, concludes that synthetic estrogen hormone medication and the rapid drop in progesterone levels that accompany menopause are the culprits in menopause weight gain. Lee’s preferred remedy for menopause weight gain is topically applied progesterone like our Preserve progesterone cream.

Do you remember our newsletter last year detailing how Wyeth Pharmaceuticals was attempting to stop compounding pharmacists from prescribing natural progesterone (diosgenin) after their profits fell by more than 57%  from $2.07 billion in 2003 to $800 million in 2004 (after the WHI study had to be stopped)?

Well, now they have gone after centers like ours making complaints to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).  The FTC's position backed by the big pharmaceutical companies is that Dr. John Lee, M.D.'s studies were not scientific and did not rise to the standard of FDA and National Institutes of Health studies, and that our claims about natural progesterone are false, unfair, deceptive, misleading advertising in violation of the law..

(Please read what Dr. Helen Pensanti M.D. has to say about this. Read on to how the study was conducted.)

This is an attempt to force women into taking unsafe proven cancer causing synthetic hormones using your tax dollar to harass natural hormone suppliers. We here at the Women's Menopause Health Center refuse to take away your choice of a healthy alternative to Premarin, Prempro and the other dangerous drugs. We are taking a stand against this heavy handed attempt to destroy competition. We are going to fight for your choice of a healthy way to get through menopause comfortably and safely.

(Ed. note: This was from our newsletter last year. The continued harassment by the FTC has caused us to discontinue our wonderful product.  Do not be forced into taking something that can kill you. You may purchase safe progesterone cream at your local health food store, or find it a lot less expensively on line at places like ebay and yahoo stores. Do not let these heavy handed tactics destroy your health!)

We recommend using Preserve progesterone cream for the most dramatic weight loss results. It should be noted that natural progesterone and sea kelp offer healthy ways to beat the menopause weight with no side effects and many added benefits.

Of course you will want to continue on (or start) a regular exercise program and a common sense eating plan!
