Apple Cider
Vinegar as a Hot Flash Remedy.
Hot flashes are the most
common complaint of menopause and the most
common reason women use hormone replacement therapy. I recently heard
of a
natural hot flash remedy cure that I want to pass along. The women in
this office in
need of hot flash help all use the Return to Eden progesterone cream
as a natural
hot flash remedy cure. This tip is for all of you who are not using
our wonderful
Return to Eden progesterone cream!

Return to Eden Diosgenin (nicknamed Progesterone) Cream.
Do you remember our newsletter
last year detailing how Wyeth Pharmaceuticals was attempting to stop
compounding pharmacists from prescribing natural progesterone (diosgenin)
after their profits fell by more than 57% from $2.07 billion in 2003 to
$800 million in 2004 (after the WHI study had to be stopped)?
Well, now they have gone after
centers like ours making complaints to the Federal Trade Commission
(FTC). The FTC's position backed by the big pharmaceutical companies is
that Dr. John Lee, M.D.'s studies were not scientific and did not rise to
the standard of FDA and National Institutes of Health studies, and that
our claims about natural progesterone are false, unfair, deceptive,
misleading advertising in violation of the law..
(Please read
what Dr. Helen Pensanti M.D. has to say about this. Read on to how the study
was conducted.)
This is an attempt to force women into taking
unsafe proven cancer causing synthetic hormones using
your tax dollar to harass natural hormone suppliers. We here at the Women's
Menopause Health Center refuse to take away your choice of a healthy
alternative to Premarin, Prempro and the other dangerous drugs. We are
taking a stand against this heavy handed attempt to destroy competition. We
are going to fight for your choice of a healthy way to get through menopause
comfortably and safely.
(Ed. note: This was from our newsletter last year. The
continued harassment by the FTC has caused us to discontinue our wonderful
product. Do not be forced
into taking something that can kill you. You may purchase safe
progesterone cream at your local health food store, or find it a lot less
expensively on line at places like ebay and yahoo stores.
Do not let these heavy handed tactics destroy your health!)

As with any natural menopause program, using a high quality
progesterone
cream like Return to Eden is highly recommended. Exercise and diet
also play
key roles in how well a women will go through menopause. We take the
"throw
everything against the wall to see what sticks" approach. Try
everything and keep
what works.
The natural hot flash remedy cure that I recently heard about is apple
cider
vinegar. A friend recently told me she started taking a tablespoon of
apple cider
vinegar daily in warm water while weaning herself off hormone
replacement
therapy. This woman reports that she has not had one hot flash.
The benefits of apple cider vinegar are many. Apple cider vinegar is
known for its
cleansing, healing and germ fighting abilities and is used for
digestive difficulties,
joint pain and infections. Apple Cider Vinegar is also an effective a
detoxifier and
is often used to correct the acid-alkaline balance in the body.
Although apple cider vinegar has been around for centuries, this old
folk remedy’s
claims as a weight loss aid has renewed its popularity. Apple cider
vinegar helps
curb the appetite, rids the body of excess fluids and aids in burning
fat.
But cure hot flashes?
I dug around to find information to back up this claim and found three
references
to apple cider vinegar as a natural hot flash remedy cure.
The respected Dr. D.C. Jarvis, in his book "Folk Medicine," suggests
massaging
cider vinegar onto the chest at night to prevent hot flashes. Granted,
this hot flash
cure may not be very popular for women who share a bed.
Studies by the U.S. Department of Agriculture state that eating foods
high in the
mineral boron can greatly boost estrogen levels - sometimes to levels
equal to
taking hormone replacement therapy. Guess what? Apples - and the apple
byproduct, apple cider vinegar - are high in boron.
Annie’s Mailbox (formerly Dear Ann Landers) published this letter on
Aug. 3,
2003 from a Canadian woman;
"I was taking apple cider vinegar for another health issue when I
realized that my
hot flashes had disappeared. I quit for three days, and the flashes
came back with
a vengeance. I am into my sixth month on apple cider vinegar and have
only had
hot flashes those two times. As for mood swings, I have had none.
Drink real
apple cider or apple cider vinegar, not pills."
We also recommend using apple cider vinegar instead of apple cider
vinegar
pills. The remedy closest to mother nature is generally the best.
Apple cider
vinegar can be mixed with water, juice or into salad dressings. It is
an acquired
taste but one well worth the effort.
