Endometriosis Symptom and Treatment.
About 5.5 million women suffer from endometriosis, a condition that
can cause intense pain and reproductive difficulties. Medical experts
are divide on the cause of endometriosis and no conventional cure
exists.
Mainstream endometriosis treatment options include hormone treatment
and/or surgery. Conventional endometriosis treatment is difficult and
often not very successful. Many women use complementary endometriosis
treatment methods, like the use of progesterone cream, as a safe and
effective alternative to conventional endometriosis treatments.

NEW!! NEW!!! BIG DRUG COMPANIES
USING THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION IN AN ATTEMPT TO DESTROY COMPETITION FROM
NATURAL HORMONE REPLACEMENT THERAPIES!!!
Do you remember our newsletter
last year detailing how Wyeth Pharmaceuticals was attempting to stop
compounding pharmacists from prescribing natural progesterone (diosgenin)
after their profits fell by more than 57% from $2.07 billion in 2003 to
$800 million in 2004 (after the WHI study had to be stopped)?
Well, now they have gone after
centers like ours making complaints to the Federal Trade Commission
(FTC). The FTC's position backed by the big pharmaceutical companies is
that Dr. John Lee, M.D.'s studies were not scientific and did not rise to
the standard of FDA and National Institutes of Health studies, and that
our claims about natural progesterone are false, unfair, deceptive,
misleading advertising in violation of the law..
(Please read
what Dr. Helen Pensanti M.D. has to say about this. Read on to how the study
was conducted.)
This is an attempt to force women into taking
unsafe proven cancer causing synthetic hormones using
your tax dollar to harass natural hormone suppliers. We here at the Women's
Menopause Health Center refuse to take away your choice of a healthy
alternative to Premarin, Prempro and the other dangerous drugs. We are
taking a stand against this heavy handed attempt to destroy competition. We
are going to fight for your choice of a healthy way to get through menopause
comfortably and safely.
(Ed. note: This was from our newsletter last year. The
continued harassment by the FTC has caused us to discontinue our wonderful
product. DO NOT be forced
into taking something that can kill you. You may purchase safe
progesterone cream at your local health food store, or find it a lot less
expensively on line at places like ebay and yahoo stores.
Do not let these heavy handed tactics destroy your health!)

Endometriosis is a condition where tissue from the
uterine lining is found in locations outside the uterus. During healthy
menstruation, women shed their endometrial lining each month as part of
the monthly menstruation. With endometriosis, tissue from the uterine
lining have migrated to other parts of the body. Most often this tissue
is found within the pelvic area, on the bowel, bladder, ovaries and the
outside of the uterus.
This misplaced tissue develops into growths that respond to the
menstrual cycle in the same way the lining of the uterus does. Triggered
by hormonal signals, the tissue builds up and sheds each month.
While menstrual blood flows out of the body through the cervix and
vagina, endometriosis tissue and the cells it sheds have no way of
leaving the body. Trapped between layers of tissue, they cause
inflammation, scar tissue, adhesions and bowel problems.
Endometriosis symptoms can cause problems any time between your first
period and your last period. Symptoms of endometriosis include:
_ Excessively painful periods.
_ Painful intercourse.
_ Chronic pain in the uterus, lower back, and organs in the pelvic
cavity.
_ Pain before and during periods.
_ Excessive bleeding, including the passing of large clots during
menstruation.
_ Infertility.
_ Fatigue.
_ Cramping at any time of the menstrual cycle.
_ Painful bowel movements.
_ Painful urination.
_ Nausea, vomiting, and constipation during menstruation.
A standard endometriosis treatment involves taking synthetic hormones,
such as the birth control pill, to stop menstruation. By stopping
menstruation, the buildup of blood and endomentrial tissue outside the
uterus is stopped. Be well informed about the side effects of synthetic
hormones before you and your doctor decide on this endometriosis
treatment.
Surgery is the other endometriosis treatment often used by doctors. The
different types of surgery include operative laparoscopy and
hysterectomy. With operative laparoscopy, a slender tube is inserted
into the abdominal cavity via a small incision. Endometrial implants,
cysts and adhesions are then removed. A more radical approach to
endometriosis treatment is by hysterectomy - removal of the uterus,
along with endometrial implants, cysts and adhesions. Unfortunately,
surgical attempts at removing endometriosis is only temporarily
successful, if successful at all.
The late Dr. John Lee, author of “What Your Doctor May Not Tell You
About Menopause,” treated a number of patients with endometriosis with
considerable success.
